If you are reporting something broken, the app can fill in the details for you: More › Settings › Send feedback opens an email with your version and build already in the subject line. Otherwise, telling us which iPhone and which iOS version you are on is usually enough to work it out.
Questions that come up
How often do the events update?
Every morning. The guide is rebuilt from the calendars that venues, downtown associations and cities publish themselves, and the app picks up the new copy the next time it refreshes — automatically while it is open, or straight away if you pull down to refresh. The listings behind this site and the app were last rebuilt on September 20, 2026.
An event is wrong, or it did not happen. Why?
Because the guide is a mirror, not the source. Times move, tickets sell out, offers end early and venues cancel — and the app cannot know until the venue publishes the change. Every listing carries a link to the venue’s own page, and that page is the authority, not this one. Before you drive anywhere on the strength of a listing, especially for a limited-time offer or a seasonal opening, check with the venue directly.
How do I report a listing that is wrong?
Email renniebarton@city2shore.com with the name of the event, place or freebie and the date you saw. A link to the listing on this site is the fastest thing of all, because it names the record exactly. Corrections go into the next morning’s rebuild.
How do I turn notifications on or off?
In the app, open More › Settings. Every category — what’s on today, saved event reminders, board items due, expiring freebies and the weekend look-ahead — has its own switch, and all of them start switched off. iOS only asks for permission when you turn the first one on. To silence the app entirely, use Settings › Apps › West MI Pinned › Notifications on the phone itself.
Every reminder is scheduled on your phone from the guide it already has. Nothing about what you saved is sent anywhere for a notification to happen.
Does it work without a signal?
Yes. The whole guide ships inside the app, and the app keeps a cached copy of the latest one, so places, events and freebies all open on a phone with no bars. Maps and drive times need a connection, because those come from Apple.
Do I have to share my location?
No. The app only asks when you tap something that needs it, such as “Use my location” while choosing towns, and everything works without it. Details are on the privacy page.
Is there an account, and what does it cost?
There is no account and no sign-in. The app is free, sells nothing, takes no bookings and has no subscription.
How do I delete my data?
There is nothing held to delete: no account, no server-side copy of anything. What you have saved lives on your phone, and deleting the app removes it.
